Description
Fresh, vivid, vibrant chartreuse foliage appears like a small explosion in your garden with this hardy creeper . Lemon Ball is a terrific, semi-evergreen , low groundcover for any sunny area with poor or dry soil . The needlelike-foliage forms bright citrusy whorls around its central stem. It is similar to Sedum 'Angelina' yet its foliage is brighter and fuller and it leans toward lemon-lime shades where Angelina tends toward orange tints. Like a miniature burning bush, it remains in tidy mounds with its tips turning bronze in winter. A rapid growth rate makes Lemon Ball perfect in summer pots and planters where it will quickly spill over the sides of the container. Drought resistant , tolerant of most soil types and even willing to put up with some shade (unusual for Sedums), this plant offers such surprising color that gardeners can't resist sprinkling it throughout their landscapes in areas that lack pizzazz. Gardener Tips You will absolutely love placing Lemon Ball in conjunction with Black Mondo Grass as an edging. The darkness of the Black Mondo, paired with the bright, sunny Sedum, gives a "day and night" feeling that is simply irresistible. Another option is pairing it with Black Scallop Ajuga which offers a similar (but lower growing ) affect.
